FROM SRI LANKA TO AMERICA — STORIES OF RESILIENCE, HOPE, AND THE POWER OF BUILDING BRIDGES. 🌍
We are deeply grateful to Danu Innasithamby, who is generously sharing his extraordinary personal journey with audiences in New York and Los Angeles, helping create fundraising opportunities for the Global Unites movement. Having grown up through the pain, uncertainty, and suffering of Sri Lanka’s decades of conflict, Danu knows firsthand the devastating impact of violence on individuals, families, and communities.
Yet his story is also one of remarkable resilience, an extraordinary positive attitude, and the ability to rebuild life from the ashes.
What makes Danu special is his gift for storytelling — his ability to find warmth, humanity, and even humor in the midst of life’s most difficult experiences, without diminishing the pain of those moments.
This promises to be an evening of laughter, reflection, inspiration, and hope.
And there is a greater purpose behind these gatherings.
Through these special fundraising evenings, we hope to mobilize support for our upcoming Global Unites youth leadership and peacebuilding conferences in Sri Lanka, Liberia, Uganda, Nepal, and Kenya.
At these gatherings, we will bring together young leaders from communities divided by ethnicity, religion, history, and conflict. We will equip them to build meaningful relationships, develop a collective vision for their nations, and become a generation determined to break the cycles of hatred and violence.
Because we believe the next generation should not have to inherit the divisions of the previous one.
We are incredibly thankful to Danu for lending his voice, his story, and his influence to this mission.
